Assault Platoon Epsilon was a military unit that served the Global Defense Initiative during the Third Tiberium War. They were stationed in the city of Munich, Germany, and were present to defend it during the onset of the Invasion of Earth, which saw Scrin attacks on the city.

History[]

Third Tiberium War (Siege of Temple Prime)[]

After a series of daring incursions into Nod territory, a GDI Commander successfully managed the final thrust to the campaign and metaphorically beheaded the Brotherhood by destroying Temple Prime, the organization's headquarters. However, the method used to destroy it (a strike from one of GDI's orbital Ion Cannon platforms) made all the difference: the weapon's power detonated the Liquid Tiberium stored within, creating a catastrophic blast that not only eradicated most of Eastern Europe, but also awakened the long-dormant Scrin. Now that they were awake, they began to execute the orders they had been given: extract this world's Tiberium, and crush any resistance.

The Battle in Munich[]

However, Scrin forces quickly realized, to their confusion, that the indigenous population of the planet was still quite alive and capable of resistance. As a result, they began launching diversionary attacks on major human population centers - Munich being one of them.

By the time the GDI Commander was dispatched to pull the remaining defenders out, the entire platoon was in chaos. Only a small task force remained available to command, as nearly all other members of the formation were locked in combat. Under the commander's guidance, the group safely escorted a team of scientists from a nearby Future-Tech research facility while the rest of the platoon kept most of the aliens occupied. A team of infantry managed to free themselves from the combat deadlock and arrived to assist via APC, and while the transports were subsequently destroyed by the Scrin forces, with the help of the infantrymen the group safely made it to the subway tunnels and out of the city. Another team of Orcas, Firehawks, and Missile Squads, potentially from Assault Platoon Epsilon, arrived to cover their retreat.

Aftermath[]

Given that GDI Command recognized the battle to be a hopeless one, the surviving elements of Assault Platoon Epsilon were likely pulled out of combat following the successful recovery of the high-value lab personnel - their main objective and holdup in the region. From there, they likely escorted them through the abandoned subway tunnels to safety in Salzburg, Austria.

Strength[]

Assault Platoon Epsilon was not to be underestimated; though the skirmish at Munich eventually saw the Scrin overrun their positions, they inflicted horrendous damage upon the attackers for each of their own men lost.

Infantry[]

Vehicles[]

Their forces optionally also captured the Sonic Emitter battle stations located in the city.
