Chemical suits is an infantry USA upgrade in Zero Hour.

Game Effect[]

The Chemical Suits upgrade reduces damage received from poison and radiation damage to 20%. Infantry benefiting from this upgrade gained a blue symbol below their feet to reflect their increased resistance. Note that, while this upgrade would reduce the damage dealt by poisons and radiation themselves, these weapons were often accompanied by other sources of damage (such as explosives) that the Chemical Suits were unable to protect against.

This upgrade affects all American infantry; that is to say, Rangers, Missile Defenders, Pathfinders, Colonel Burton, and Pilots (who were untrainable but often found themselves in dangerous circumstances anyway). Boss general Leang also utilized this upgrade, which on top of her roster of "borrowed" American infantry further affected her native Tank Hunters and Hackers, alongside the commandos Jarmen Kell and Black Lotus.

Trivia[]

Leftover code and voicelines suggest that the Infantry General was originally intended to receive this upgrade as well. In the end, it was scrapped.
