The radar van was a GLA-owned van with a mobile radar uplink, used during the GLA Conflict.

Game unit

Purchased from an arms dealer, the radar van provides a mobile radar uplink. It can be upgraded with the radar scan technology, allowing it to periodically reveal areas of the battlefield otherwise invisible, and also reveal stealth units in proximity.

While this unit is not a combatant unit, it can be used in base patrols. This mobile radar solution also meant that the commander will not lose radar even if his command center is sold, destroyed, affected by an EMP blast, or out of power if he captures enemy buildings. This also meant that if the radar van is hit by an EMP blast or garrisons in a Tunnel Network, its owner's radar will go offline unless he has other radar vans operational.

Trivia

There was a cut ability associated with the radar van, called the "radar jammer". It allowed the radar van to cast a shroud in the surrounding area, similar to the mobile gap generator from the original Red Alert.
