The console in Command & Conquer: Renegade can be accessed by entering the ~ (tilde) key. The console available in both campaign and multiplayer, with certain commands being restricted based on the player's permission on the server.

List of commands[]

Commands will be displayed in bold, with variables encapsulated in <angle brackets>. Command aliases are encapsulated in (parenthesis).

  • admin_message <message> (amsg): sends an admin message to all clients. Host only.
  • alimit <limit>: changes the current air vehicle limit. Host only.
  • alimitd: displays the current air vehicle limit. Host only.
  • allow <nickname or id>: removes user channel ban from this server. WOL mode only.
  • botcount <count> <team>: changes the maximum amount of bots. Team parameter is optional. Host only.
  • cleanup: removes duplicate packages from TTFS.
  • clearttfs: removes all packages from TTFS.
  • ClientPhysicsOptimization: toggles client physics optimization.
  • cmsg <red>,<green>,<blue> <message>: displays a colored message in the info box of all players. Host only.
  • cmsgp <red>,<green>,<blue> <message>: displays a colored message in the info box of a player. Host only.
  • cmsgt <red>,<green>,<blue> <message>: displays a colored message in the info box of a team. Host only.
  • createshd <filename>: <shaderdev> saves the currently loaded shaders.ini into a shaders.shd file.
  • debugdump (dd): dumps all Renegade memory to a file (like a crashdump). This will likely take a minute or two and lag you out of a game!
  • disarm <player>: disarms all C4 of a player. Host only.
  • disarmb <player>: disarms all beacons of a player. Host only.
  • disarmp <player>: disarms all proximity C4 of a player. Host only.
  • donate <from player> <to player> <amount>: moves cash from one player to another on the same team.
  • edit_camera: edits the parameters of the currently active camera profile.
  • edit_vehicle: edits the parameters of the currently driven vehicle, if any.
  • eject <player>: ejects that player from whatever vehicle they are in, if any.
  • evaa <sound file>: plays an EVA message for a players. Host only.
  • evap <player> <sound file>: plays an EVA message for a specific player. Host only.
  • evat <team> <sound file>: plays an EVA message for a specific team. Host only.
  • exit: exits Renegade.
  • extras fnkqrrm: enables fun mode, unlocking extra characters and vehicles that can be accessed by holding ALT and selecting the respective menu. Host only.
  • fps: toggles FPS display.
  • game_info: prints info about a game in progress to console box.
  • gameover: ends current game. Server only.
  • get_bw_budget_out (gbbo): shows total bps budget out.
  • getbw <player>: retrieves the current bandwidth for given player (as set by sbbo).
  • gfps: gets the maximum server FPS.
  • hud: toggles HUD display.
  • icon <player> <w3d file>: shows an emoticon over the head of the passed in player that is visible to their team. Host only.
  • icon2 <player> <w3d file>: shows an emoticon over the head of the passed in player that is visible to their enemies. Host only.
  • id <string>: prints the name and ID of players matching <string>. No string means all players.
  • kick: kick and ban a user from the game. WOL game server only.
  • listgamedefs: lists all game definitions that an be used with
  • log <number>: enables or disables the client chatlog; 0 = disabled, 1 = enabled.
  • logp: prints the status of the client chatlog.
  • map: prints the name of the current map. Host only.
  • mapnum: prints the index within the map list of the current map. Host only.
  • message <message> (msg): sends a chat message to all clients. Host only.
  • mined <team>: prints the current mine count for <team>; 0 = Nod, 1 = GDI. Host only.
  • mlimit <new limit>: sets the mine limit. Renegade host only.
  • mlimitd: prints the current mine limit. Host only.
  • mlist <position>: prints the name of the map in the given position in the map list.
  • mlist all: prints the entire map list. Host only.
  • mlistc <position> <map>: changes the map at <position> in the map list. If the position is after the last map, it will be inserted at the end. Host only.
  • mod: prints the name of the current mod. Host only.
  • musica <sound file>: plays looping background music for all players. Host only.
  • musicp <player> <sound file>: plays looping background music for a specific player. Host only.
  • net_update_rate (nur): sets the maximum net update think rate (times per second).
  • nlimit <limit>: changes the current naval vehicle limit. Host only.
  • nlimitd: displays the current naval vehicle limit. Host only.
  • nomusica: stops the background music for all players. Host only.
  • nomusicp <player>: stops the background music for a specific player. Host only.
  • pamsg <player> <message>: sends an admin message to a specific player. Host only.
  • pinfo: prints information about the players in the game
  • player_info: prints info about players in the game to the console box.
  • plimit <new limit>: changes the player limit.
  • plimitd: displays the current player limit.
  • ppage <player> <message>: sends a page to a specific player. Host only.
  • quit: ends game and quits to desktop. Dedicated server only.
  • quit_slave <slavename>: shuts down a slave server. Dedicated master server only.
  • radar: gets the radar mode for the server. Host only.
  • reloadconfig: reloads tt.cfg.
  • RemoteC4Limit <new limit>: sets the remote C4 limit. Renegade host only.
  • resetdevice <shaderdev> (rsd): forces device reset, causes texture reload.
  • resetshaders <shaderdev> (rss): reloads active shaders, may crash client.
  • resetwater <shaderdev> (rsw): forces water system reset.
  • restart: quits to desktop and restart process. Dedicated server only.
  • revivebuildingbyid <id>: revives a building by object ID. Host only.
  • revivebuildingbyname <team> <name>: revives all buildings whose translated or preset name matches the given wildcard; 0 = Nod, 1 = GDI. Host only.
  • revivebuildingbypreset <team> <preset name>: revives all buildings with the given preset name; 0 = Nod, 1 = GDI. Host only.
  • revivebuildingbytype <team> <type> Revives all buildings of the given type (see BuildingConstants for types); 0 = Nod, 1 = GDI. Host only.
  • screen_uv_bias: toggles the half pixel bias in screen text.
  • serial <playerid>: gets the serial hash for a player. Host only.
  • set <option> <value>: sets option.
  • set_bw_budget_out <bps> (sbbo): sets total bps budget out.
  • setbw <player> <bandwidth>: sets the current bandwidth for <player> (as set by sbbo).
  • sfps <fps>: sets the maximum server FPS.
  • snd3da <player> <sound file>: plays a 3D sound effect for all players. The player is used to identify where to play the 3D sound. Host only.
  • snd3dp <player> <sound file>: plays a 3D sound effect for a specific player. Host only.
  • snd3dt <player> <team> <sound file>: plays a 3D sound for a given team at the location of <player>; 0 = Nod, 1 = GDI. Host only.
  • snda: plays a sound effect for all players. Host only.
  • sndp: plays a sound effect for a specific player. Host only.
  • sndt: plays a sound effect for a specific team; 0 = Nod, 1 = GDI. Host only.
  • song: prints the name of the last song loaded by the MUSIC command or the Set_Background_Music script command. Host only.
  • sshot <player>: takes a remote screenshot of a player. Host only.
  • ssurl <url>: sets the URL to be used for remote screenshots. Host only.
  • sversion: gets the version of bandtest.dll installed on this machine.
  • tag <playerid> <tag>: sets the custom name tag for a player. Host only.
  • team <player> <team>: changes a players team; 0 = Nod, 1 = GDI. Host only.
  • team2 <player> <team>: changes a players team without taking cash/score; 0 = Nod, 1 = GDI. Host only.
  • TechUp <level>: triggers desired tech level (or the highest tech level on the map if its lower than specified).
  • time <new time>: changes the time remaining.
  • timed: displays the time remaining.
  • timel <new limit>: changes the time limit.
  • timeld: displays the time limit.
  • timescale
  • tmsg <player> <message>: sends a message to a team as though it was comming from <player>.
  • tpage <team> <message>: sends a page to a specific team; 0 = Nod, 1 = GDI. Host only.
  • velocity (vel): toggle display of velocity alongside FPS.
  • version <player>: Get the version of bandtest.dll installed on a client. Host only.
  • view <w3d filename> <animation name>: displays a w3d file in a dialog. Use to examine models for test purposes.
  • vis: toggle VIS culling.
  • vlimit <limit>: changes the current vehicle limit. Host only.
  • vlimitd: displays the current vehicle limit. Host only.
  • win <team>: kills the buildings of the other team to end the game; 0 = Nod, 1 = GDI. Host only.
