The Command & Conquer: The Covert Operations demo was released in 1996. It was not standalone, and required the full version of Command & Conquer patched at least to version 1.19 to function. It is also compatible with the Mac and Windows (Gold) releases of the game.

This demo includes two new Nod missions from the Covert Operations expansion pack (Deceit and Cloak and Dagger), as well as two new multiplayer maps for the base game.
