Defense of the Archipelago is the third main challenge in Commander's Challenge. In this mission, the FutureTech Commander battles Nikolai Moskvin to acquire the Tesla Trooper technology.

Overview[]
- Moskvin has a total of five bases.
- All except the last remaining base will sell everything once their production structures (specifically their Barracks and Construction Yard) have been destroyed.
- For each base lost, Moskvin's surviving forces will be promoted once, maxing out at Heroic Veterancy with three.
Strategy[]
As the Empire of the Rising Sun, start with two instant generators and two ore refineries, then defend two of the three entrances to your base with two Defender-VX turrets each. At the remaining entrance, build a mecha bay, two Mecha Tengus, and the Mecha Bay upgrade. Once your economy allows, build another instant generator and a refinery. Once all buildings have been completed, you can sell your construction yard and use the engineer from it to capture the southern oil derrick for an extra economic boost.
Once the Mecha Bay upgrade is complete, select the Advanced rocket pods Top Secret Protocol and queue up at least fifteen Striker-VX. Transform them into Chopper-VX as soon as they enter and use them to destroy Moskvin's production structures, starting with the base attacking the Mecha Bay entrance. Prioritise the barracks to prevent Moskvin from building too many flak troopers. When there's only one base remaining, make sure to destroy the super reactor last as its explosion can destroy your Chopper-VX.
