Fjords is a custom multiplayer map for Renegade, created by AircraftKiller. Utilizing Tiberian Technologies' Scripts 4.0, it is considered to be the most detailed map for vanilla Renegade by the C&C community at the time of its release.[4]
Overview[]
Fjords is based on Hammerfest from Tiberian Sun. Set in the area during the First Tiberium War, the map includes a fully built-up GDI base (Hammerfest Operations Command) and a recently-constructed Nod base with a civilian mining hamlet located in between. The hamlet contains an ore refinery from Red Alert and a drivable pickup truck. Underneath the ground is a large cavern, serving as an arena for infantry-on-infantry combat.
Like Glacier, the map features buildings not present in many of Westwood's own multiplayer maps, such as the construction yard, Tiberium silo, repair facility, and cut buildings like the GDI advanced communications center and the Shrine of Nod. The latter two allow the respective team to purchase superweapon beacons.
Much of the vehicle and structure models have been updated to resemble more like their Tiberian Dawn counterparts. In addition, both teams can produce flying vehicles, and Nod can produce the recon bike from the airstrip.
