Flame Dancers is one of the oldest mods for Red Alert. It includes a campaign of 35 missions, split in two separate campaigns. The first set of the campaign was ported to the actual version of Red Alert.
The mod featured some .ini modifications and new graphics.
Player will fit into the role of a Flame Dancers commander and has to destroy the allied Chronosphere, whose technology destabilizes the integrity of the universe. The Enemy is the European Defense Force, which eventually precurses the GDI.
The Flame Dancers campaign was meant to explain the formation of the Global Defense Initiative from its beginnings towards the end of the Soviet conflict, and the introduction of the Brotherhood of Nod.
The beginning of the first Flame Dancers campaign starts almost immediately after the end of the Soviet conflict. The first mission set spans a 'relatively' short period of time, probably no more than two or three years. The second mission set spans a much longer duration of time - the first mission begins the day after the final mission of the first set, but the last mission takes place a few days after the arrival of Tiberium on Earth (ie slightly before the start of Command and Conquer).
