Flash-bang grenades were an upgrade developed at the USA Barracks for Rangers.

Once purchased, the flashbang grenades upgrade allows rangers to switch from using a rifle, to using flashbang grenades. They are highly effective against groups of infantry and Angry Mobs, and a single grenade can clear out a garrisoned building. However, flashbang grenades do not inflict any damage against vehicle or structures. Infantry within Bunkers and Palaces are also not affected.

The Rangers in the flashbang mode have a slightly greater range yet slower firing rate compared to their standard machine-gun mode.

- no longer damages Chinooks
- increased primary damage from 25 to 35

Trivia[]

Flashbang Grenades were presumably employed by the USA as a non-lethal weapon to capture POWs before the latter was cut and the grenades were repurposed to simply destroy infantry units instead, in effect acting as normal and lethal fragmentation grenades.
