The G7 group of nations was an international, intergovernmental economic organization that consisted of the world's seven largest advanced economies at the end of the 20th century: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Through the United Nations, the group acted with several other countries, notably Russia, India, Brazil and Australia, to establish the Global Defense Initiative sometime prior to the First Tiberium War—the first worldwide conflict GDI waged against the shadowy superpower, the Brotherhood of Nod.
