A GLA hole is a remnant structure that appears upon initial destruction of a GLA building.
Game structure[]
The hole is the remains of a GLA building that has been reduced to non-functioning ruins, yet not entirely destroyed. It occupies the same footprint as the original building, and is similarly impassable. When GLA Hole appears, a Worker will eventually emerge to reconstruct its respective building. Both occur at no cost to the original owner. Said worker, however, is still vulnerable to all sources of damage, and when killed, construction ceases until a new one spawns, or if another available worker is assigned to carry on. The spawned workers themselves cannot be individually commanded and simply disappear when the building returns to play. If the hole itself is destroyed, its associated structure is eliminated completely.
Holes left by structures upgraded with Camo netting do not retain their stealth.
The GLA Hole dramatically increases a structure's survivability against ordinarily lethal weapons, such as China's Nuclear Missile (whose radiation could still delay reconstruction) or an Aurora strike. Unless the opponent has other means to finish the job at hand, they would have to deal with the same structure over and over again. However, the Hole is not as resilient against the likes of USA's Particle Cannon and GLA Scud Storm; not only will they often eradicate the resultant hole, and, failing that, they can usually kill the emerging worker, delaying reconstruction. GLA Holes themselves are rather fragile and are very vulnerable to elimination if explosive-armed enemy units are nearby. USA Pathfinders and GLA's Jarmen Kell can also suppress the workers indefinitely.
Changelog[]
- Zero Hour patch 1.01: units will now continue destroying a GLA building that has gone to its GLA hole state
