A large Gatling gun mounted on a tracked chassis, this vehicle can fire at ground and air targets. Gatling tanks are very effective versus infantry and decent against light vehicles and aircraft. They are also among China's faster vehicles, and are cheap and easy to produce on the battlefield. This makes the Gatling tank a good scout early on in a battle until MiGs can be produced.

Gatling tanks are great when deployed as anti-infantry and anti-aircraft protection for squads of heavier tanks, such as Battlemasters and Overlord variants, since Battlemasters have next to no way of dealing with lighter targets and Overlords' gatling guns can be inconsistent. They aren't foolproof, but will reliably take down enemy aircraft worth far more than themselves in sufficient quantities. This is especially noticeable against Malcolm Granger, whose laser countermeasures are ineffective against ballistic weapons. Even one can shred fast infantry units like Terrorists, and in small groups they will quickly tear through lightly armored vehicles while their high speed keeps them safe.
Gattling Tanks' greatest weakness, as with all its derivatives and equivalents in the Chinese arsenal, is their mandatory spin-up time. Whereas GLA's quad cannon and USA's Avenger can fire right away, Gattling Tanks tend to waste those precious seconds, only to be destroyed before they can fire or inadvertently allow their targets to escape, specifically against Aurora variants' guaranteed alpha strikes. Furthermore, unlike its equivalents, the Gattling Tank lacks integrated stealth detection, weakening its matchups against such threats.
