“ | Prepare broadside! - Mohawk when attacking |
” |
The Mohawk Gunship is a common GDI's anti-vehicle helicopter in Command & Conquer: Rivals.
Background[]
GDI's AH-95 Mohawk Gunship was developed to give GDI a heavy armed ground attack craft that could loiter over enemy targets but was neither as fragile as the Orca Assault Craft nor as expensive as a Kodiak Command Ship.
Abilities[]
- Flying.
- Must turn so that its target is to its left before firing.
- Can fire while moving.
Game unit[]
Mohawk is a heavy anti-vehicle aircraft. It has a similar role to that of Orca, but they accomplish their goals very differently. Mohawk has greater sustained firepower, whereas Orca deals a great amount of damage right away, but if that wasn't enough, it's useless for a while. Mohawk will blast until the job is done, making it a great option to deal with heavy tanks.
The raider ability work like for no other unit. Mohawk can attack while moving so long as target is on the left side. Although it can be used to harass retreating units, it's mainly used to start firing at the target even before the Mohawk has come settled into the firing position.
Although a sturdy aircraft, the main weakness is the Stealth tank, which will take it out of the sky with a single volley. Phantom will hurt them quite badly, but they will stay in the air. The humble Laser squad can be a real pain for the Mohawk in the middle game.
Works well with Razorback, since together they will make short work on any early to mid game ground units.
The asymmetrical nature of the unit means that it would benefit from having the home base in the bottom left or top right corner of the maps.
