The Mortar Cycle is a military motorcycle with a sidecar used by the Soviet Union in Red Alert 3: Uprising.

The motorbike is an old Krasny Motory messenger motorbike repurposed by the Soviet Resistance as a fast attack vehicle. Hundreds of these were sitting mothballed in the company's warehouses after it went bankrupt as a direct result of the exhausting world war. Each vehicle has been modified significantly, including armored plates, more powerful engine and a reinforced side car with two weapon compartments: a Molotov cocktail storage and a collapsible mortar.
Game unit[]
The Mortar Cycle is a fast vehicle best used for hit-and-run attacks, combining speed, offense and accessibility, although they do require a War Factory in addition to the Barracks. They're rather ineffective against armor in direct confrontations, and cannot target air, but thanks to being vehicles, most anti-infantry attacks (Attack Dog, War Bear, Shinobi, Desolator's Deathspray, Multigunner IFV's Turret when garrisoned by a Spy, etc) don't work on them. They can easily empty entire garrisons and provide some fire support while other forces hold the front.
It's worth mentioning that Mortar Cycles are produced from the Barracks and require the presence of a War Factory to construct. As land vehicles, they are not affected by the Hospital, but can be repaired by either a Garage or a Crusher Crane's Repair Drones.
Abilities[]
Porta Mortar
The Mortar Cycle fires mortar shells at long range.
|
Molotov Cocktail
The Mortar Cycle launches Molotovs at ground targets that can clear garrisons.

Trivia[]
- Depending on the Mortar Cycle's speed, if you destroy one, the driver and gunner may be sent flying out.
- If a tracked vehicle runs over dead bodies of the driver and gunner from a destroyed Mortar Cycle, the remains will be stretched and snap back to their original position when that vehicle reaches a certain distance. Getting run over by slow wheeled vehicles, such as Prospectors, will also work.
- The Mortar Cycle's Porta-Mortar in the concept art and rendering resembles a grenade launcher more than an actual mortar.
