Neutron Mines were improved explosives fielded by the PLA during the GLA Conflict, intended to stop or at least hinder attacks on their facilities.

Background[]

While the normal mines deployed by Chinese forces served well to destroy enemies who got too close to their assets, valuable vehicles that could have been captured were often destroyed. To this end, PLA engineers came up with a new design that replaced the explosives with miniaturized neutron bombs. These explosives, similar to the Neutron Shells deployed by Nuke Cannons, were incredibly deadly to organic matter but harmless to vehicles. They would kill any ground vehicle's driver and any personnel being transported within, regardless of vehicle armor or number of hit points.

Game Effect[]

Neutron mines are only avaliable as an extension to structures that already have land mines installed, and must be purchased individually. It retains the original's lethality against infantry units, and merely disables vehicles by killing their crew, leaving them intact and available for commandeering by any infantry unit.

As with land mines, neutron mines could be detected and removed by construction units, and could also be set off by external damage sources.
