Disambig
For the real world Parisian monument seen in Red Alert and the Tiberium universe, see Eiffel Tower.

The Paris Tower was a large metal monument in Paris, France. It only appears in the Soviet campaign of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2.

History[]

RA2Sovietlogo The following is based on the Soviet campaign of Red Alert 2 and might contradict canon.

During the Third World War, in response to the European Allies mobilizing against the Soviet Union, the Soviets invaded France and established a small outpost in Paris.

The city was poorly guarded because most of the French forces had joined with the Germany army along the Polish border. Taking advantage of this weakness, the Soviets sent a squad of Tesla troopers to turn the Paris Tower into a giant Tesla coil. The plan was successful, devastating the Allied forces in the region and forcing thousands of Parisians to flee.

Appearance[]

The Paris Tower differs significantly from its real-life counterpart, the Eiffel Tower, sporting round platforms instead of rectangular ones and having three legs instead of four.

Game building[]

The Paris Tower is essentially a giant Tesla coil; it can fire electrical bolts off at nearby enemy units, which are powerful enough to destroy every unit and structure in the game in a single hit, including superweapons.

However, it needs 100 power to function, and in the mission City of Lights (only after it Changes House, see Trivia for details) the player must energize it with three Tesla Troopers, since there are no starting Tesla Reactors nor capturable Power Plants.

It also appears in the multiplayer map called Paris Revisited (2-4). Since the civilian House owning the Tower has no power structures and it cannot be captured by any player, it is harmless and only acts as decoration.
