The Quad Cannon was a Soviet-era weapon (the ZSU-23-4 Shilka's modified AZP-23 Amur mounted on the back of a half-track) recycled by the GLA by the time of the GLA Conflict as their anti-infantry and anti-aircraft vehicle.
Game Unit[]
The Quad Cannon is the cheapest anti-aircraft vehicle and the second-cheapest AA unit (behind Shin Fai's Mini-Gunner). One of the most useful units available to the GLA, it can be mass-fielded for early game skirmishes, and provides very effective anti-infantry and anti-aircraft fire. Quad Cannons are by no means weakly armored, especially for a light vehicle.
Nevertheless, quad cannons are rather ineffective against heavy armor. Although they have average range, they are no match to enemy Rocket Buggies and other types of artillery from afar. Despite its anti-air specialty, it is unable to fully counter Aurora and Aurora Alpha, as these aircraft are invulnerable during an attack run.

Salvage[]
Due to an oversight, Quad Cannons actually become less effective when upgraded with salvage. Although both salvage upgrades attempt to increase its rate of fire, these changes are not conferred properly. Instead, it reaches its maximum fire rate either after collecting the first or upon reaching Heroic veterancy. Additionally, the first salvage upgrade reduces the Quad Cannon's damage by 2, thereby cutting its DPS.
