Sabotage | Orders the saboteur to temporarily disable an enemy building. |
Effect on buildings[]
- Command center - Resets timers for all General's powers, if any.
- Supply center/Supply stash - steals $1000 from the targeted player, and can't steal more than the amount they actually have.
- Barracks/War Factory/Air Field/Arms Dealer - disables targeted building for 30 seconds.
- Strategy center/Propaganda center/Supply drop zone/Black market/Internet center - disables targeted building for 15 seconds.
- Cold Fusion Reactor/Nuclear Reactor/Advanced Nuclear Reactor - cuts off the target player's power for 30 seconds.
- Superweapons - Resets its timer.
- Fake Structure - explodes immediately.
Game unit[]
Saboteurs deal no direct damage to buildings (barring fake structures), but do interfere with their functioning in various ways, potentially upsetting operations significantly. Saboteurs were single-use units that would be consumed after entering their target building. Stealthed even when moving, Saboteurs can also scale cliffs to enter bases from unguarded directions. They can delay the deployment of support powers and superweapons, shut down a base's power grid or prevent unit production for a short period of time. Provided they could stay out of sight, they made excellent scouts if they managed to sneak into an enemy base, but can fall very easily if their target is protected by units and structures with stealth detection.
Despite their speed, Saboteurs were very vulnerable. Anti-personnel defensive structures would make short work of them. The Chinese could defend against them quite easily simply by deploying land mines around their structures, while a few Pathfinders would make any US base virtually impenetrable to them. Ironically, they were best suited for use against enemy GLA players. They also lack combat abilities, and are completely defenseless when exposed. Given its limitations, it was often best to use a saboteur after a large-scale strike when base defenses were disrupted, or against small secondary bases (such as outlying supply gathering sites) that aren't properly defended, and stealth detection measures are recommended to scout the saboteur's route to the target building in advance.

Trivia[]
- In the game's texture files, an unused sabotage ability icon is present. In the game, the sabotage ability simply uses the saboteur's portrait instead.
- The Saboteur was originally able to steal cash from American supply drop zones. It was most likely removed because it would have put the USA into a disadvantage compared to the other factions, whose secondary sources of income cannot be infiltrated.
- Rodall Juhziz was to have Demo Saboteurs, which were able to additionally plant explosive charges.
