The Forgotten Scrapbus[2] was a Forgotten fighting vehicle used during the Fourth Tiberium War. They were driven by "maniacs", as described by various field reports. It is unknown who originally designed them, or what qualifications are required, but the Scrapbus is a heavily-armored bus retrofitted with armor plating and quadruple gatling guns, giving them a rapid rate of fire, more than enough to discourage various wildlife such as the Visceroid or overconfident infantry from both the Global Defense Initiative or the Brotherhood of Nod.[1]
In-game[]
The Scrapbus is the most expensive unit hirable from the Forgotten Hovel, but makes up for it with quadruple Gatling guns mounted on top, giving it a 360 degree firing arc, and can usually bring all guns to bear, but not always, against ground units, but against air units it is fully capable of bringing all guns to bear.
Due to being outfitted with a gun-based weapon, the Scrapbus has a difficult time with tackling heavy armor units, but can rip through infantry that much faster, forcing infantry such as the Zone Trooper or Ascended to Raiders and Bulldogs.
Their heavy armor gives them a great resistance to small-arms fire as well, even the heavy pounding from a GDI Zone Enforcer or a Nod Devout and their heavier chainguns are able to be handled by the Scrapbus, and it can return the favor just as easily. However, beam weapons will cut through its armor relatively easily.
Also, costing at 10 CP per unit, it is an expensive unit to field, most commanders unable to field more than five at a time, not counting the deployment of other units, nor do they leave husks like other heavy units of the same size.
Behind the Scenes[]
The vehicle's name was chosen by a contest.[3] It was previously known as the "mutant bus".
