Game map[]
Sinkhole is set in the ruins of a city levelled by a nuclear explosion. Whereas standard Soviet nukes would cause a relatively small explosion in relation to an enemy base, the one used on the city the map is set in was powerful enough to leave a crater that makes up the majority of the map. The force of the explosion was strong enough to raise terrain and even strip away patches of paved roadways. Most of the buildings are damaged beyond habitability and require repairs to garrison. There are areas in and around the crater that were left irradiated from fallout for prolonged periods of time (30 minutes). The remnants of the city show evidence that the city was once a dense urban area with signs of a suburban area to the east. There is also evidence that the city was already part of a battle as sandbag walls can be found scattered around the city (similar to Chicago in its final moments).
Tips[]
- Desolators, War miners, Chrono miners and all robots (Terror Drone, Robot Tank and Chaos Drone) can freely roam the map as they are immune to radiation.
- Playing as Yuri in this map is quite difficult since Yuri relies more on infantries and the Slaves of Slave Miners cannot work in radiation, thus unable to mine all the Gems in the crater and having to rely on the Gold mine near the player's base.
Trivia[]
- This is one of the only maps in the game with prolonged irradiated land.
- Strangely, the area the map's namesake is referring to is not actually a sinkhole but a nuclear crater.
