The Subterranean APC is capable of carrying up to five units underground to a target. When underground the subterranean APC is invisible to the enemy but can be detected by a GDI Deployable Sensor Array. The APC cannot surface from under certain terrain types, such as rough terrain, water, etc.
- Tiberian Sun manual(src)

The Subterranean Armoured Personal Carrier was a transport vehicle of the Brotherhood of Nod during the Second Tiberium War and the Firestorm Conflict.

Background[]

In order to keep a low profile from GDI detection, these APCs are capable of travelling underground by tunnelling through the soil in order to reach far away locations, making them effective heavy assault carriers for Nod personnel. They are equipped with heavy drills that allow them to move beneath the surface of the earth. This allows it to bypass enemy defenses and fortifications, ambush enemies and avoid Tiberium that would pose a risk to the health of the soldiers inside.

After the Firestorm Conflict, the APCs were replaced by the Reckoners.

Game unit[]

Each subterranean APC can transport up to five infantry units. Unlike GDI's amphibious APCs which can traverse over water, they can travel underground and bypass natural obstacles such as mountains and cliffs, providing better flexibility for Nod forces.

A common tactic used by Nod commanders was to load up an APC with engineers (sometimes accompanied by escorts for diversions), burrow into the base and come out next to enemy structures and quickly capture (and sell or use) them before the enemy could respond. However, the subterranean APC cannot burrow in or out of the ground if the area was either slabbed with concrete pavement, covered by a Tiberium field or had uneven terrain.
