The power plant is the Allied power supplying structure in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge.
Background
Its design is a highly efficient and easily constructed gas turbine generator with three heat exchangers.
In-game
Compared to the Soviet Tesla reactor and Yuri's ungarrisoned bio reactor, the power plant produces more power units, requires slightly more time to build and occupies a smaller footprint (2x2 footprint compared to 2x3). Though the Power plant also costs more ($800 vs. $600), the credit cost per power unit ($4) is the same as for the Tesla reactor.
Power output is directly related to the power plant's condition, so they must be protected from enemy fire.
