This page includes a transcript of A New Beginning, the thirteenth and final Nod mission of Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun.[1]
Introduction[]
Persuading Jake[]
Slavik: Sorry to interrupt your patrol, soldier.
Jake: I'm not gonna talk.
Oxanna: We don't need you to talk. We need you to listen.
Jake (aroused): Should've gotten captured a long time ago.
Slavik: Your brother doesn't think much of you, Jake. I was just curious, how is it he's a hotshot commander and you're the smart one? If you believe your propaganda you won't believe this, but the Brotherhood is only interested in peace.
Oxanna: Your brother's in it for the glory. A real hero plants for peace.
Jake: I want peace...
Oxanna: We need you Jake. We see what GDI doesn't.
Slavik: We see the undiscovered warrior.
Oxanna: And we're willing to give you everything to come fight for us: power, Divination, respect... Everything.
Taking Down Hammerfest[]
Montauk pilot: Data burst transmission, from the inside.
Jake: I did it, the perimeter will be down in an hour. All clear in an hour.
Slavik: Nice work.
Kane: Take Hammerfest, Slavik. Bring it to its knees. You will find in your control three ICBM launching platforms. Let's get them to their assigned points inside the base.
CABAL: GDI's Philadelphia space station will orbit overhead three times. You must get all three ICBMs in place and fire them before the third orbit is complete or they will have time to target and destroy you.
Kane: When the battle is finished, we will be victorious and the technology of peace shall flow across the land.
Mission selection[]
CABAL: Kane's vision is at hand. Unfortunately GDI's orbital station, the Philadelphia, can stop the missile that will take us into the future. We must destroy the Philadelphia at all costs! The Philadelphia will require three orbits over this sector before it can locate our missile. You must get three ICBM launchers into position before the Philadelphia's final orbit is complete. With the ICBMs in place, we can bring GDI's command station down. All this remains contingent, of course, on McNeil's helpfulness. You must pretend to pursue him back towards the GDI base. They will open the perimeter to let him in. Once he is in, he will deactivate the perimeter shortly thereafter.
Briefing[]
In order for our ICBMs to shoot down the Philadelphia, they must be able to triangulate the station's position. Our spies have placed beacons at the optimal deployment locations. Once the launchers have been moved to the beacons, the station's fate is sealed and the Temple of Nod may be built. Move with all due haste. If the Philadelphia is able to complete three orbits, it will lock onto our position and destroy Kane's plans.
- Objective One: Deploy ICBM launchers at the three beacons.
Ending[]
Philadelphia's Destruction[]
Slavik strolls past a wounded McNeil to witness the Philadelphia's destruction.
Slavik: Peaceful, isn't it?
The three ICBMs strike the Philadelphia, completely obliterating it.
McNeil: NOOO!!!...
A New Beginning[]
Oxanna: Good welcome citizens. It is with the greatest honor and the highest joy that I bring you, Kane.
Kane (broadcast): This morning was the most glorious morning in the history of the Earth. Peace is upon us, a gift to every man, woman, and child from the Brotherhood of Nod. Victory - not just for our people, but for our species! The time for questioning is over. Rising from our trenches, our bunkers, our factories, we must all now partake in the technology of peace. One purpose, one vision. Tiberium is the way and the life. Today, the sun rises on a new world and a new people. The end is the beginning.
As the World Altering Missile launches from the Cairo Pyramid, Kane stretches out his arms and vanishes into thin air, having achieved his goal of Ascension. In orbit, the WAM unleashes its payload, covering the planet in Tiberium fallout. The entire Earth is now a Tiberium wasteland.
