Introduction

Umagon is by the bedside of Tratos.

Umagon: He's still out, but he'll live.

McNeil: As long as he lives long enough to tell us where Vega is, I'll be happy.

Umagon: Do you love nothing!?

McNeil: I love to win.

Umagon: Our deal is done, blunt.

Tratos suddenly convulses, his heartbeat increases rapidly. Umagon removes his mask, but McNeil tries to hold him down.

McNeil: What's happening!?

Umagon: No! [Pushes McNeil away] It's a Pentosi - a vision!

Tratos stops convulsing, wide-eyed.

Tratos: Kane... has the Tacitus...

Kodiak briefing

The Kodiak is in flight.

Solomon: According to Tratos, Vega's base is 760 clicks south. The ion storms have knocked out our satellites. He pulls his power from an old dam nearby which is heavily protected by a large base.

EVA: Taking out the dam and the power plants first will neutralize enemy air defenses.

Chandra: Well, that approach to Vega's fortress would be easier.

McNeil: Are you with me, EVA?

Mission selection

EVA: Vega's base is secreted on an island in this sector. Reaching it will be difficult, as there is only one overland access. Your best chance of success lies in the use of amphibious APCs to land on the island and penetrate Vega's defenses. Once on the island, destroy Vega's facility and command center.

Briefing

Vega's base of operations is in the area. It is heavily guarded by SAM sites, and a secondary outpost provides reinforcements. Destroy all Nod forces in the area, but capture Vega's Pyramid intact - there is information there that we can use. You will have only limited troops until the SAM sites are neutralized one way or another.

• Objective One: Destroy the Nod base.
• Objective Two: Capture Vega's Pyramid.
