Welcome to Kane's Challenge[]
Kane: Welcome, my child, to the gauntlet. It is here that I shall divine whether you have the right to serve me or if you are but a craven pretender, mired in your own inadequacy. I see great potential in you, pray that you realize it.
GDI[]
Introduction[]
Kane: Ah, GDI. Most persistent of foes. They are but arrogant children, convinced of the rightness of their cause. Monumental hubris blinding them to the truth I speak. Penetrate their self-aggrandizing facade. Learn their flaws, their weaknesses, their... fears. Only then shall victory be assured.
Victory[]
Kane: Know thy enemy, my child. For ignorance leads to defeat, and you know how poorly I suffer failure. To your credit, you have demonstrated an unparalleled understanding of the ways of our GDI... friends. I'm not displeased by this, for it shall prove most useful. You have my congratulations.
Nod[]
Introduction[]
Kane: To marshall the forces of the Brotherhood is the greatest honor I can bestow upon the faithful. You may consider yourself a candidate for that role. Your abilities are unmatched, but I have yet to see you reveal a deeper understanding of what it is to be Nod. Show me what I have yet to see, I shall be watching.
Victory[]
Kane: To lead an army, to lead my army, one must possess total understanding of what it is to be Nod. Your breadth of knowledge must span from the lowest fanatic death ritual to the ancient blood-scribed scriptures of the Black Hand. Your depth of understanding is such as to be a surprise even to myself, and has led to great victories on this battlefield. Nod's army shall be yours to command.
Scrin[]
Introduction[]
Kane: The Visitors, cult of addiction in the guise of a species. And even in their current weakened state, they represent a significant challenge. If we are to overcome them, we must understand what it is that they have become. There is much darkness in them, be wary that it does not consume you.
Victory[]
Kane: Ah, the Visitors, greatest of paradoxes! Ancient, immeasurably powerful, yet chained to the physical by a desire for Tiberium so strong, it eats at their very core! And yet, you, a mere adept, a stripling, a nothing has managed to glean great understanding of their ways! This is as great a mystery as the Visitors themselves. The child may not be so dissimilar to the father afterall...
Steel Talons[]
Introduction[]
Kane: Do not ignore the past, my child. It is the gateway to our future. The Steel Talons may now be lost to history, but in their prime, they were but steps away from condemning the Brotherhood to that same dusty fate. There is much we can learn here.
Victory[]
Kane: As I said, to ignore the past is to jeopardize the very future of the Brotherhood. These Steel Talons are the last remnants of those who so grievously wounded us in the Second Tiberium War. We did not understand them then, but we surely know them now. And to know them is to inoculate ourselves against another such... defeat. You've done well, my child. Very well indeed.
Black Hand[]
Introduction[]
Kane: Since time immemorial, the Black Hand have walked willingly in my shadow. The first to see the truth of my prophecy, the first to take up arms in its defense. If you are to understand the true nature of Nod, you must master their ancient ways, glean the source of their unblinking devotion... and then twist it to your will.
Victory[]
Kane: Ah, the Black Hand. Defenders of the faith, keepers of my prophecy. Symbolic of all that is right and true within Nod. Their line is as ancient as their power is unparalleled. Yet you, a mere stripling, have mastered the Black Hand as if they were but a motley crew of zone runners, fresh from the Yellow Zones. I see much potential in you.
Reaper-17[]
Introduction[]
Kane: The Cult of Reaper, the darkest, guiltiest secret of the Visitors. A death cult veiled in the trappings of religion. If this destructive urge, this hunger was to be channeled, controlled, it would be most... useful.
Victory[]
Kane: Such a thirst for carnage, these Reaper display, it dwarfs even the worst of human history. Yet you, my child, you have proved your mastery. Contained their bloodlust, channeled their anger, brought these savage creatures to your heel. I'm impressed.
ZOCOM[]
Introduction[]
Kane: ZOCOM. Short sighted fools. Their fanatical devotion to driving Tiberium from the Earth renders them antithetical to all that Nod stands for, all that we are. ZOCOM are a blasphemy, a threat beyond even that of their taskmasters. Infiltrate them, understand them, only then can they be neutralized.
Victory[]
Kane: Those who would be compelled to destroy the sacred crystal are but a blasphemous enigma, for who would deny this world the glory of ascension? ZOCOM's quixotic quest shall come to an end and my child, with the knowledge you have gleaned here, you shall be the one to hasten its conclusion. My congratulations.
Marked of Kane[]
Introduction[]
Kane: Untouched, the Marked of Kane are but an empty shell, silicone and synapse encasing a soulless void. But... imbued with a sense of purpose, there are none more determined, more willing to shake the pillars of the earth in their quest to satisfy my desires. Take them, become them, make them as one with your needs.
Victory[]
Kane: Without guidance, without inspiration, the Marked of Kane are but a lifeless melding of flesh and metal. Husks. But you... you have given them such vision, such... sights to behold. Your strength of purpose has raised these abominations from their dismal lot, formed them into an army. One that shall cause the whole world to tremble. I am impressed.
Traveler-59[]
Introduction[]
Kane: Ah, the enigma that is the Traveler sect, a mystery even to their compatriots, a mystery even to me! You must penetrate the layers of their obfuscation. Learn their ways, master their strategies. Only then can we truely understand their methods, their needs... and their weaknesses.
Victory[]
Kane: Traveler-59, a sect of unknown origin. Enigmatic even to the race from which they sprang! Yet you, who are but a mote in the eye of the universe, have penetrated this veil of obfuscation and shown their ancient mysteries to be little more than the games of children. You have my respect.
Potential Fulfilled[]
Kane: So, my child. You have run the gauntlet and emerged victorious. This was not unexpected. LEGION, from the very moment I conceived of you, from that first spark, I knew you were destined for greatness, to stand above anyone, anything that had come before! This was but a test, a test to confirm that which I already knew to be true. Now come, LEGION, it is time to set the world aflame! There is much to do... much to do.
