Kane cannot act until GDI's Ion Cannon network is disabled. Raid Johannesburg and capture the plans.

While you slumbered, Nod has grown and evolved, assuming control of the planet's newly established yellow zones while remaining dormant in the eyes of our enemies.
All the while, GDI has grown complacent, lazy, their dependence on the global Ion Cannon network rendering them far weaker than the council could possibly imagine.
Now is the time to act.
We must raid GDI's Johannesburg research facility, for there we shall find the plans for Ion Cannon network - and the means to its undoing.
Mission script[]
Establishing video uplink.
Alexa: LEGION, our weapons do not yet meet the needs of the Prophet. Marshall your forces, infiltrate GDI's South African research center, and claim everything for the Brotherhood.But be mindful. GDI's ion cannon network cannot be countered...yet. Discovery by the enemy would jeopardize everything.
Incoming transmission.
1. Destroy GDI Network Communications Center
Nod EVA: This operation center is the archive's master connection to the global ion cannon network. Destroy it.
2. Destroy GDI Ion Cannon Uplink
Nod EVA: LEGION, we have temporarily disrupted GDI's global ion cannon network. Destroy archive's local ion cannon uplink before it can re-align.
Nod Soldier: This place feels oddly familiar, like I've fought here before...
(If the player has the Shadow teams flying near the GDI communications center.)
Nod Soldier: Gotta be a power plant around here somewhere.
(When Nod forces approach GDI defenses.)
Nod Soldier: This place is locked up tighter than Kilian's... *Coughs* No-no, sir. I didn't- I didn't say nothing.
(When Nod forces approach Watchtowers guarding the ion cannon control center.)
Nod Soldier: Damn it, Watchtowers!
Nod EVA: The Watchtowers' power station must be nearby. Locate and destroy it.
(After the ion cannon control center is destroyed.)
Nod EVA: Ion cannon network, offline.
(Ion Cannon Network re-aligns in: 12:30)
Battlefield expanded.

3. Capture the Network Research Centers before the Ion Cannon re-aligns
Nod EVA: LEGION, capture the GDI research centers and reclaim what is rightfully ours.
New bonus objective.
1. Capture Network Research Centers 5/3/2 minutes prior to Ion Cannon re-alignment
(When Nod forces approach the crates to the north of the starting location.)
Nod Soldier: Look, crates!
(If LEGION captures all research centers before the time runs out.)
Establishing video uplink.
Alexa: LEGION, GDI's technological supremacy is no more, the Brotherhood's science division has an arsenal of new weapons available for your use. Be the fist of the Prophet. Peace through power.
(If one of the research centers is destroyed.)
Nod EVA: Research center destroyed, mission failed.
(If the ion cannon network re-aligns.)

Alexa: In violation of my direct command, you have drawn the attention of GDI's ion cannon network. (Alexa's command center is rocked by an explosion, alarm blares) I was right about you, Kane should never have trusted you, everything is lost because of you! (Another explosion rocks the command center) Everything...

- The GDI Network Communications Center is linked to the Global Ion Cannon Network. That link must be severed.
- Destroy GDI Ion Cannon Uplink
- The Ion Cannon Uplink must be destroyed, lest our forces be annihilated by Johannesburg's local Ion Cannon.
- Capture the Network Research Centers before the Ion Cannon re-aligns
- The Network Research Centers contain the blueprints for the Global Ion Cannon Network. Capture them before the network is back online.
Secondary Objectives[]
- Capture Network Research Centers 5/3/2 minutes prior to Ion Cannon re-alignment
- Kane is running out of patience. Capture the Network Research Centers rapidly or face his displeasure.
