This page includes a transcript of Something Amiss, the introductory cinematic to the Scrin campaign of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars.[1]
Description[]
The aliens invade Earth and discover something is terribly wrong; the alien Supervisor orders diversionary tactics.
Transcript[]
Foreman 371 awakens from stasis. The interface starts up with the Scrin logo, which unfurls into a set of characters, the top-right of which is selected. The interface zooms into a view of the Milky Way galaxy before zooming into the Solar System, passing through the gas giants and focusing onto planet Earth.
Communications from an orbiting satellite is intercepted, which plays back a W3N broadcast on the Annual Energy Summit (The Winds of War). Scrin characters are translated to English.
[LANGUAGE ASSIMILATION COMPLETE]
Alien AI: Welcome back, Foreman.
[FOREMAN 371 AWAKENED FROM STASIS]
Footage plays of liquid Tiberium explosion from the Ion Cannon strike on Temple Prime.
Alien AI: Ichor-LQ detonation on previously seeded planet. Initiating harvesting procedures. Course change completed and on planetary approach. Startup sequence proceeding normally.
Three transmissions play of W3N broadcasts of the initial Nod attacks at the start of the Third Tiberium War (The Winds of War).
Alien AI: Tactical analysis: indigenous civilization highly unstable, Ichor-LQ detonation indicates self-destruction now in progress. Primary Ichor concentrations identified, coordinates locked. Deployment sequence initiating now.
Six transports are launched towards the Earth. Kane's speech following the Philadelphia's destruction can be heard in the background (The Winds of War).
Alien AI: Unexpected hostile reaction: energy weapon deployed against transports. Evasion probability low, defensive dispersal function initiated. Minor transporter damage, proceeding as targeted. Deployment appears premature, initiating surface scans.
[LEVEL V CIVILIZATION ON 31.8 of PLANETARY SURFACE.]
[LEVEL IV CIVILIZATION ON 54.2 of PLANETARY SURFACE.]
Alien AI: Analysis indicates indigenous population is dangerously viable. Advised mission abort, Foreman.
Supervisor: Mission will not be aborted. No precedent exists for viable indigenous resistance after Ichor-LQ detonation event. Overlord would be intrigued, proceed with harvesting as planned.
Alien AI: Supervisor, registering objection. Harvesting operations ready for Threshold defense. Units unsuitable for prolonged resistance to organized forces.
Supervisor: Disorganized them. Diverge indigenous forces away from Relay Nodes during construction. Objection dismissed.
Alien AI: Plan accepted. Disseminating revised objectives to all units. Commence diversion tactics on major population centers.
