[Energy Summit]
[William Frank]
[Day Five Onboard G.S.S Philadelphia]
[GDI Energy Summit]
Frank: ...and in global news today, the Annual GDI Energy Summit is still underway aboard the space station Philadelphia. Our own Cassandra Blair reports on the landmark goals set for this year's summit.
[Cassandra Blair]
[GDI Energy Summit]
[Northeastern GDI Administration Center]
Blair: When top administrators return to work here tomorrow, they're hoping for a new fiscal agenda. According to Director Kinsburg, one of the key talking points for this year's summit is shifting resource allocation from defense to ecology, where the eradication of Tiberium is now viewed as a more pressing concern than the containment of-
[BREAKING NEWS]
Frank: ...ex-excuse the interruption but... we're getting breaking news on the Philadelphia.
Amateur footage plays of the Philadelphia's destruction.
[Breaking News]
[Amateur Astronomer Footage]
Frank: Apparently just moments ago, there was an accident.
Amateur footage plays of the debris of the Philadelphia falling to Earth.
[Washington D.C.]
Frank: It's... obviously something that's gone terribly wrong...
[Tragedy On The Philadelphia]
Frank: We're going to do our best to confirm what we are all seeing, but this time we have no idea what possibly could have caused a tragedy this magnitude. We're gonna go live now to Cassandra Blair back outside the northeastern admin building. Cassandra?
Broadcast switches to Cassandra live, where the streets have become chaotic.
Blair: William, William! I don't know if you can hear but it's incredible, there's so much smoke you can't see more than 10 meters and there's debris falling. All over-
Blair is knocked out from a nearby explosion. The crowd starts running.
Frank: [Shakes head in disbelief] Unbelievable-
The news broadcast is interrupted. Kane, long thought to be dead by the world, reveals himself.
Kane: The destruction of the Philadelphia was not an accident. It was a merciful bullet to the head of a malignant ideology... It was the death of fear and the birth of hope! Rejoice, children of Nod, the blood of your oppressors will flow and 50 years of tyranny will finally end. Transformation is coming. A new day will dawn. The future is ours...
Kane's transmission ends. Broadcast returns to W3N.
Frank: Unbelievable... Hold on, we're getting breaking news now from our northwestern affiliate.
Broadcast switches to Brittany Murphy. Vertigos are seen flying over for bombing runs as the streets are in the chaos.
[Brittany Murphy]
[Northwestern Blue Zone]
Murphy: ...and they just came out of nowhere! No warning, nothing! Bombs started dropping. [Ducks down] And for what we can tell there is no sight of GDI retaliation at all. It is a massacre!
Pentagon Under Attack[]
[GDI Central Command]
[Washington, DC]
[Blue Zone B-2]
Granger: Commander, all hell's broken loose. Nod's launched pre-emptive strikes in every major Blue Zone across the board. Most of our troops are pinned down, our A-SAT defense system is still offline and I have no goddamn idea who's running the show with GDI.
The Pentagon is shaken by an explosion.
Granger: This is no time to stand on protocol, the entire Northeastern Seaboard has been overrun and we're taking the worst of it right here in D.C..
Telfair: General! They're starting evac procedures.
Granger: You go ahead Sandra.
Telfair: S-Sir, you can't wait here.
Granger: That is an order, Sandra!
Telfair: Sir... [Leaves]
Granger: Kirce James and Theatre Ops will bring you up to speed. It's all on you now, Commander. I need you to take back this city.
The Pentagon gets rocked by another explosion.
InOps Briefing[]
[InOps Combat Intelligence Center]
[Washington, DC]
[Blue Zone B-2]
James: Alright Commander, here's the latest. Nod forces are going in for the kill, closing in on the Pentagon. As you know, there is no more vital structure in the region. It is the center of our command and control network. If we lose the Pentagon, it could be the beginning of the end. You cannot let this happen!
