The Mobile Construction Vehicle (abbreviated as MCV) is an unarmed vehicle used by all three sides in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge that can deploy into a construction yard.
[T]he heart of every base is the Construction Yard. On many occasions you will not start with this structure in place but will have an MCV, or Mobile Construction Vehicle, at your disposal. When deployed, this vehicle becomes a Construction Yard, providing you with all of the benefits of that building. To deploy an MCV, select the vehicle and hold the cursor over it. If the cursor changes to a golden circle with four arrows, left-clicking on it will deploy the vehicle. If the cursor has a red circle with a line through it, there is either not enough room to deploy or something is in the way. Move the vehicle (or the offending object) to find a suitable deployment site. - Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 manual

Game unit[]
The Mobile Construction Vehicle can deploy into a construction yard using the deploy action. If "MCV Repack" is enabled, the construction yard can undeploy back into an MCV. At 3000 credits, the MCV is the most expensive unit to produce in the game. Each player have an MCV to start a game.
AI behavior[]
1x deploying into a construction yard
The AI will build an MCV if the construction yard has been destroyed, regardless if the service depot/grinder is built or not.
a match with the "Short Game" setting will no longer end if a player only has an undeployed MCV remaining
losing a construction yard and building a new one from an MCV no longer requires the manual selection of the build tab to refresh the construction options list.
Yuri's Revenge patch 1.001: a mind-controlled MCV can no longer be deployed, and a mind-controlled construction yard can no longer undeploy. This is done to bypass the issue of the MCV/construction yard from vanishing once the unit controlling it is killed. MCVs/construction yards controlled by psychic dominator are not affected.

Trivia[]
The driver's cab of the Allied MCV in the Red Alert 2 installer slide resembles the first generation Volvo FH12 truck cab.
If an AI gets possession of another faction's MCV (example: Soviet AI owning an Allies' MCV) and deploys it, the AI can still build structures from their original faction even without their original construction yard. This is possible if an engineer captures a War Factory as the MCV comes out.
Construction yards have their own cameos, but have a grey background with the word "Con Yard" written in white.
