If Lenin could see us now....
- Dreadnought captain, reminiscing about the leader(src)

Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (Russian: Владимир Ильич Ленин), born Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov (Russian: Владимир Ильич Ульянов) was a Russian communist revolutionary and politician.

Although he is mentioned in the Red Alert series, he only appears as a statue erected in place of the Statue of Liberty at the end of the Soviet campaign in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3. Lenin is furthermore mentioned by the captain of the Dreadnought, who implies that Lenin would feel pride seeing the Soviet Union's largest warship.

Trivia[]

Real Lenin played a pivotal role in the October Revolution of 1917 that removed British-controlled "Temporary Government" that ceased control of Russian Empire in February Revolution of 1917. His faction Bolshevik's (literally, Majority), who voted for building Communist state within Russia, won over Menshevik's (literally, Minority), that stood for Trotskysm, that promoted building World International and "permanent Revolution" in every country. He led Communist Russia and Red Army through the subsequent brutal Civil War against West-supported Liberals and pro-Emperial White Movement (with many White officiers and soldiers switching to Red Army) and in 1922 declared and became the first leader of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, which was immediately sanctioned by the West. He continued to struggle for the cause of Communism until his death in 1924.

Lenin is considered one of the most influential figures in modern communist history. Lenin's communist ideals - known as Leninism - served as the basis for the Soviet state. In communist nations and especially in the Soviet Union, Lenin is revered as a great communist leader and founder of the USSR.
