The Widowmaker is a common Nod tech vehicle in Command & Conquer: Rivals.
Background[]
The Widowmaker is designed to defend the high cost Temple units form infantry and airborne threats. It's fearsome looks are backed by a dual flame-thrower and and abdomen mounted missile battery. The Widowmaker went through many iterations, but the final arachnidian design was selected by Gideon Raveshaw himself for it's “sense of style and class”.
Abilities[]
Game unit[]
Armed with flame throwers and missiles, the Widowmaker is a capable anti-infantry and anti-aircraft vehicle. The flames deal extra damage to buildings, allowing Widowmakers to quickly dispatch Minigun turrets and the Obelisk of Light.
The cost and performance of the Widowmaker is about on par with the mid-game units, but since it required the Temple of Nod building, it's difficult to field it quick enough. In the late game it struggles to against heavy tech units.
Widowmakers do very little damage to vehicles, making them extra vulnerable to motorized ground units, especially the hard hitting tanks.
Their damage and health is in line with their cost, meaning that tier 2 aircraft and infantry can overwhelm them when numbers are on their side.
Has very similar stats with Wolverine.
