The Global Liberation Army (abbreviated GLA) was a violent non-state actor established at some point in the 20th century in opposition to the hegemony of the United States of America and People's Republic of China. The highly decentralized organization incorporated various groups of insurgents, terrorists, self-styled freedom fighters, members of the criminal underground and other people supportive of their cause under the common banner.

Black Gold is the fourth and penultimate mission in the United States of America campaign of Zero Hour. The main objective was to destroy all GLA forces near the Tech oil derrick in Iran to stop Dr. Thrax's funding. Despite heavy resistance from the GLA and their allies from a local town where the GLA used propaganda to incite the civilians fight for them, the operation was a success.

  +
Background
The GLA's rapid expansion and aggression triggered a global conflict with the nations it opposed. GLA leaders did not abide by rules of military conduct and routinely targeted civilian populations, up to and including terror attacks utilizing weapons of mass destruction.

  +
Following the assault and capture of a secret GLA lab, the American forces learned that the GLA, led by a general codenamed "Dr. Thrax", are engaging in the production of lethal toxin. American intelligence agency traced Thrax's funding to an Iranian oil fields, and the US military intended to cripple the GLA threat by cutting off their funding.

  +
The area surrounding the oil fields was hostile as the GLA had the support of the disenchanted civilians in the local town. In preparation for the mission, three CIA agents were inserted into the area to find out the resistance and situation. A night operation was planned to catch the GLA off guard.
History
Origin
The origin of the GLA is unknown. It was known to be active since at least 1995, at which point it controlled a ghetto in Cairo. It had ties with many of the most prominent terrorist leaders in the Middle East, including Prince Kassad, a Libyan politician and criminal mastermind; and Rodall Juhziz, a bombmaker linked to an attack on the US Embassy in Cairo and the sinking of the USS Nelsen in 2012. However, its source of funding and leadership were both shrouded in mystery, particularly due to its decentralized organizational structure.

  +
Events
In the 2010s, the GLA established several strongholds in Central Asian republics, distributing its forces and leadership across the border of these nations. It also crossed into Western China and attempted to build popular support for the creation of an independent state in the region. This was believed to be in response to China's "Modern Way" program, which resyulted in increased civil liberties and growth in exports, which the GLA viewed as a threat. Around this time, it had also established and funded sleeper cells in Asia and Europe.

  +
Airborne Assault
  +
The only way to establish a foothold in the area was by air, and capturing the town's airport would be beneficial to the Americans so they could be supplied with reinforcements. Under cover of darkness, US Rangers paradropped onto the airfield and eliminated the AA batteries and other GLA units present there. Once all GLA units were destroyed, an American plane landed several Crusader tanks, Humvees and dozers to establish a base of operations at the airport. Colonel Burton and six Pathfinders were also dropped off by a Chinook helicopter.

  +
Neutralizing Local Resistance
Campaign against China
  +
With only a limited number of supply piles in the area, it was essential for the American forces to capture some of the oil derricks that were controlled by the GLA. All the oil derricks in the area were controlled by the GLA and could continually build up their attack forces in a war of attrition against the Americans. After removing several booby traps, Rangers captured the oil derricks at the airport to secure the funds needed while the rest of the force set up defensive positions at the access bridges.
The GLA launched its first major attack against China when it struck a military depot at Yecheng, stealing thousands of rounds of munitions and destroying a nuclear power plant, causing serious radiation leakage. In order to demonstrate its military might to GLA and the rest of the world, China organized a military parade in Beijing. However, the GLA attacked the parade and detonated a nuclear warhead on Tiananmen Square, annihilating Tiananmen and much of the participating military and civilians. In response, Chinese forces were forced to destroy their own nuclear stockpile to prevent it from falling into GLA hands.

  +
Unfortunately the GLA used the radio station to rally the locals against the US forces. The Angry Mobs were the least of the Americans' worries, as car bombs and Bomb Trucks tore up the US forces while the GLA besieged the American base. Without any air support apart from their A-10s, the Americans sent an infantry armored division to destroy the local radio station. Local resistance and a few GLA tanks defended the radio station, which itself was heavily armoured. In the process, two of the CIA agents was found in the town by the US forces and fought alongside the group against the GLA. The Americans soon freed the locals from GLA propaganda but a flood of rebels came pouring into the town, forcing the US forces to fight off the reinforcements until the town was secured.
Following the attack on Beijing, China discovered a GLA cell in Hong Kong and deployed a large force in response. However, GLA forces destroyed the Tsing Ma bridge as the Chinese attack force was crossing, decimating it. The GLA had taken over the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, forcing the Chinese forces to destroy it. Another GLA cell surfaced near the Three Gorges Dam and destroyed a Chinese base in the area. In response, Chinese forces destroyed the dam to stop the GLA's advance and ultimately destroyed the cell. Later, Chinese forces discovered a GLA toxin factory in the Tanggula Mountains. They incinerated the factory using the napalm missiles of MiG fighters, preventing its content from contaminating the Yangtze River.

  +
Securing the Oil Derricks
After GLA forces were driven from China, a major GLA cell took over the city of Balykchy and heavily entrenched itself within the city. With air support from the US military, Chinese forces destroyed the GLA presence in the city. Undeterred, the GLA took over a Chinese rail line and used it to amass troops in Bishkek, the subcapital of Aldastan. Though the rail line was heavily defended by GLA forces, a Black Lotus agent was able to sneak onto a train bridge and destroy it using a bomb, denying the rail line to the GLA.

  +
Although the oil derricks at the airport was in US hands, the rest were controlled by the GLA which constantly brought out its war machine and battered the American defenses. Using their attack group that recently assaulted the radio station the Americans sent that group to fight their way to the other side of the oil fields, while the Rangers captured the GLA oil derricks left intact by the US attack force. Desperate to stop the US from capturing the oil fields, the GLA constructed their SCUD storm in an attempt to destroy the derricks and the attacking US division. But slowly the Americans fought their way through heavy GLA opposition, with help from Colonel Burton and the third CIA agent found hiding near the oil field, after a long battle the US captures all of the oil derricks, crippling the GLA's main source of funding.

Assault on the GLA base
At last, Chinese forces located the GLA's asia-pacific headquarters in Dushanbe, the capital of Aldastan. For this pivotal battle, the Chinese government authorized the use of nuclear weapons. A strike team led by GLA commando Jarmen Kell ambushed the Chinese attack force on approach to the city, and the GLA even deployed their superweapon, the SCUD storm. However, the GLA cell in Dushanbe was still destroyed. The victorious Chinese forces held a military parade through the city.

  +
Without their funding the GLA war machine grounded to a halt. This time the Americans reinforced their attack force and blasted their way through one of the base positions, all of which were heavily mined by Demo Traps. A massive engagement occurred between the Americans and the GLA defenders but they were not enough to halt the advancing Americans from destroying their base.

  +
Aftermath
Rebuilding and striking back
  +
The destruction of the GLA garrison guarding the oil fields, as well as the American capture and self-destruction of the oil rigs, severely crippled Dr. Thrax's war effort to fight the Americans. US intel finally located the GLA leader at a classified area in the Middle East. Dr. Thrax's defeat there would plunge the whole GLA into turmoil again.
Though it sufferred a significant setback at the hands of China, the GLA was far from defeated. Because of its campaign against the GLA, Chinese forces were spread too thin, leaving major economic and civilian targets undefended. Seeing an opportunity, the GLA forces launched an attack in the Shymkent DMZ. The local Chinese garrison was powerless to stop the GLA from destroying a hydroelectric dam, causing severe Chinese casualties and flooding a fishing village downstream.

  +
Walkthrough
In order to acquire resources, GLA forces intercepted UN and American aid supplies to several villages outside Almaty, slaughtering many civilians and aid workers in the process. They then incited a riot in Astana, inciting angry mobs to rise up against Chinese and American forces in the city. GLA forces and angry mobs destroyed and looted much of the city, acquiring funds in the process.

  +
Once you secure the strip, use the Dozers to neutralize Booby and Demo Traps scattered on your base. Then build defenses on the 3 bridges, especially in the Northern side, because that bridge will be the most used by GLA to attack you.

  +
While at it, capture the Oil Derricks and build a force of Paladins and Humvees with Pathfinders and Missile Defenders to secure the rest of the bridges. Capture the Derricks after neutralizing it. Expect heavy resistance by enemies. Capture the Tech Oil Refinery and the Artillery Platforms, adding it with building Fire Bases to soften GLA positions.
The GLA then sought to drive the US out of Turkey. However, they were hindered by American air support from the Incirlik Air Base, so they launched an attack on the air base and destroyed it. However, they then learned that the US had taken control of their toxin storage facility in the Aral Sea. To secure their toxin supply, the GLA destroyed the US forces occupying the area.

  +
As you do it, use Burton to soften the Radio Station defenders and use A-10 Strikes to eliminate GLA the radio station to stop further suicide attacks launched.
At this point, a GLA splinter cell turned against the GLA and joined the Chinese. The Chinese provided the splinter cell with nuclear warheads, but the GLA ambushed the convoy escorting the warheads, took over them, and used them to destroy the splinter cell.

  +
After that, secure the village by putting defenses on the area. After that, find and secure 3 CIA agents on the field: one is near the oil field, the second is on the boundary between the oil fields and the village, and the last is on the village's outskirts.
With the splinter cell destroyed, the GLA was ready to carry out their masterstroke: taking control of the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The launch facility, protected by Chinese and American forces, was planning to launch a Soyuz rocket. The GLA forces launched an attack on the facility, captured the ground control facility and launch pad, and installed a toxin warhead onto the rocket. The GLA then launched the rocket at an unknown city, poisoning it and causing massive civilian casualties.

  +
Use Spy Sat uplink to clear Demo Traps in the road to the GLA base. Then eliminate the GLA to the roots.
US campaign against the GLA
Following the GLA's rocket strike, the US military launched a global campaign against the GLA. Having tracked their biological weapons to Baghdad, the US launched a siege of the city. On the third day of the siege, US armored forces broke into the city. To stop the Americans from entering the city, the GLA fired a SCUD storm hidden in the nearby mountains at the city, killing a massive number of civilians. However, despite heavy GLA resistance, US forces destroyed the SCUD storm and secured Baghdad.

Tips
The US then tracked GLA leaders to Al Hanad, Yemen. However, GLA shot down multiple American Comanches with Stinger missiles and captured their pilots, forcing the US military to prioritize rescuing them. Later, the GLA ambushed a US division in the Hindu Kush mountains, forcing it into full retreat. With assistance from a Comanche base near the Salang Pass, most of the US forces retreated safely.

  +
* On medium and hard difficulties, the GLA base has a SCUD storm already built, (there is none on easy), but it won't activate unless Spy Satellite is used on the base. Since the GLA won't repair or rebuild their structures, wait until you've ranked up to level 3 A-10 Strike before revealing the base, in which you'll be able to safely destroy the SCUD storm with 2 A-10 Strikes before they can launch.
  +
* There are three CIA Agents around the map. Find them to solicit their help, but be careful not to run the vehicle over the Agent before they identified themselves to be ally, as the vehicle may kill them.
  +
* Due to the amount of Oil Derricks in this mission, the Derrick pays $100 each time as opposed to $200 in other mission or in regular gameplay. The $1000 bonus on capture remains the same, however.
  +
* The initial attack force's fate is unknown after securing the area.

Undeterred by the losses in Hindu Kush, the US discovered a major GLA training camp on the coast of the Caspian Sea. In response, US forces launched an amphibious assault on the camp and destroyed it.

Countdown to Zero Hour
The GLA, although much weakened by the American offensive, was still in control of the Baikonur launch facility. When it looks like they were going to be quickly defeated following the destruction of their main base in Akmola, another bio rocket was prepared and launched at an American Naval Base in Europe. Their moment of glory did not last long, as the US army command launched a second offensive. American forces leveled Baikonur, and proceeded to conduct a search-and-destroy operation against what they perceived to be the GLA's leadership (notably Dr. Thrax) in the aftermath of a task force's successful key deployment to Iran. However, the American forces would fail to halt one of the GLA convoy's escape from the devastation of the US military led Shock-and-Awe campaign, whose person of interest became the next supreme leader of the GLA to the unsuspecting world superpower. The terrorist organizations soon had regrouped once again under a new leader, ('Deathstrike'), and without reconsideration, decided to quickly strike back at the US, first by destroying their fleet in the Mediterranean sea, including the priced aircraft carrier USS Reagan, and then by infiltrating the US mainland and stealing chemical weapons. Appalled by this, United States officials pulled back their military presence in Europe to strengthen homeland defense, inevitably weakening the European territorial security. Seizing the opportunity to strike, the GLA had invaded Europe unto the surprise of the international attention, taking the main US base in Germany while US forces were still pulling out.

The rest of the world was shocked to see the world's greatest superpower suffer such a defeat. The Chinese Republic, with its own borders secured and its confidence and vigor higher than ever, entered the picture again. The use of captured Chinese weaponry against the US Stuttgart base during the GLA campaign in Europe harmed China's reputation in the process, prompting the renewed Chinese offensive that is focused and aimed at restoring that reputation and to show the world that China is committed to keeping the global peace, it was evident with their restrained use of nuclear weapons during the Liberation Campaign, the Coburg and Halberstadt theatres of the campaign being prime examples. With the strategic use of nuclear weaponry, mass numbers and overwhelming firepower, the GLA were eventually subjugated in Europe, capturing most of the GLA leaders and reclaiming the US bases in Germany. China, having replaced the humiliated United States as the world's foremost superpower, established the Eurasian Unity League to guard against any future GLA threat. The surviving GLA leaders were sent and tried by the World Court.

Second GLA War
G2

Despite their annihilation in Europe, GLA cells continued to operate within the shadows, waiting for a moment to strike back once again.

The GLA were to return in Command & Conquer: Generals 2. Set ten years after their seemingly utter defeat in Europe, years of hiding has paid off as the GLA re-organized itself through its activities with non-governmental organizations. They have also gained the cash, hardware, manpower and territories to strike at their enemies.

The revitalized GLA is no longer predominantly a Middle-Eastern terrorist organization. It had now expanded to include other ethnic groups and nationalities. Furthermore, they sparked another world war through rebellions within several satellite states and this time with the militarized European Union and the newly-formed Chinese-dominated Asia-Pacific Alliance.

Base of Operations
The GLA has bases scattered across the globe. Over a period of several years, the GLA steadily built up their strength and support in the Third World, mainly within the Middle East and Central Asia. While the group possessed a number of 'main' bases, their destruction did little to halt the GLA's spread of influence. For this reason, it is debatable whether or not the organization possessed a 'nerve center' at all. In the First GLA War, the GLA's main base of operations is in Akmola of Kazakhstan and was destroyed by a Sino-American force during Last Call.

In the war of 2013, The GLA empire has stretched to:

* Iran

* Kazakhstan

* Germany

* Iraq

* China

* Aldastan

* Egypt

* Russia

G2

Since the 2020s, the GLA had worldwide influence and without having political control.

Resources
The GLA began with a financial injection from a number of shadowy, wealthy backers (many of whom, such as Prince Kassad who would go on to become a prominent GLA cell leader and one of the key figures of the organization), and gained much of its funding hence from raiding resources, such as the United Nations' foreign aid supplies. They also had ties with the Black Market which brought them a steady cash flow as well as access to relatively advanced weapons.

The GLA was highly resourceful, raiding and salvaging abandoned World War 2 and Cold War weapon dumps, employing ex-Soviet scientists, and even scavenging spare parts from the battlefield. While GLA vehicles could not match their more modern counterparts on the battlefield, GLA commanders were highly devious and unscrupulous, but many American and Chinese generals underestimated them at their peril.

Political structure
The GLA is known to be highly decentralized. This is one of the reasons UN attempts at negotiation have failed so miserably. Their leaders are scattered across many countries and divided themselves into different factions. At times, with a skilled and strong leader at the helm, the GLA is capable of operating as a somewhat cohesive entity. With the absence of an effective leader, however, infighting is not uncommon.

Relations between GLA factions is, thus, a complex web of alliances, deals, betrayals and power struggles. When prominent GLA researcher and leader Dr. Thrax was defeated, a power struggle ensued between General Mohmar "Deathstrike" and Prince Kassad. To an extent, defections by GLA splinter cells to either the Americans or the Chinese even occurred.

Ideology
The goals and motives of the GLA are, even now, unclear, such is the secretive nature of the organization. Their ideology can be summarized as aggressive pseudo-religious populist anti-imperialism.

The GLA is seemingly opposed to anything they deem exploitative, imperialist or immoral, whatever they are. The GLA is opposed to the superpowers having any involvement in the affairs of lesser nations, as they perceive their involvement (including humanitarian support) as neo-colonialist acts. GLA leaders have referred to the Americans and Chinese as the 'scourge of humanity', characterizing China as 'The Dragon', USA as 'The Killer Falcon' and even referring to their enemies as 'infidels'. For example, General Mohmar referring to the rogue Prince Kassad and his forces as 'infidels'.

The aspiring freedom fighters and desperate fanatics who made up its ranks often truly believed they are standing up for the downtrodden peoples of the world, in spite of the fact that they had often killed civilians they deemed hindrances to their success. During its existence, the GLA succeeded in inspiring a great fanaticism among its considerable number of followers, to the point where many were willing to kill themselves for the cause.

Political influence
The GLA managed to gain the support of many of the world's disenfranchised peoples. Its splinter cells are scattered around the world. In certain areas, the GLA acted as the de facto government (as was the situation in Mogadishu, Somalia). The GLA also used the media to spread their propaganda - ARC News is allegedly funded by the GLA or one of their backers, and it is through this channel that the GLA leadership issues official statements.

Military doctrine
The GLA military doctrine involved using stealth and speed as their main war tactics, as well as surprise attacks and suicide bombers. They were also known to implement biological and chemical weaponry, notably anthrax, in their fight against the United States and China.

The GLA recruited their troops mainly from the angry, desperate, disenfranchised and disillusioned people of the Third World. They can be easily indoctrinated into the GLA cause. There were no shortage of these recruits, and the GLA is able to build up their forces quickly to challenge their militarily-superior foes on the battlefield. The typical GLA infantry is armed with cheap weapons and often have little training, although the GLA employed overwhelming numbers and the element of surprise to challenge and defeat their foes. Some were so fanatical as to strap bombs to their own bodies and sacrifice themselves in an attack on any enemy.

A visitor to a typical GLA base - if he or she managed to evade an untimely bloody death at the hands of the defenders - will find a lot of tunnels. The GLA tunnel networks are one of the wonders of modern warfare. It allows GLA units to travel quickly and in comparative safety anywhere where there is a tunnel entrance, and also serve as arms depots and field hospitals. If a GLA structure is leveled, it will soon be rebuilt provided the tunnel entrance ("GLA Hole") beneath it is not destroyed. GLA military structures also require no outside power to operate - unlike many American and Chinese military structures, meaning the only thing limiting GLA bases are terrain and funds, but, when a GLA general was able to capture a Cold Fusion Reactor or a Nuclear Reactor (or capture a Dozer and build them themselves), their build times are reduced by 50%. The GLA recruited civilians to build structures and base defenses and carry supplies for their armies. They are cheap and quickly replaceable if they fall in battle.

In general, GLA units are cheap and quick to build. Their vehicles are assembled with whatever spare parts the Arms Dealer happened to have at hand. This however means GLA vehicles often lack the firepower or armor of American and Chinese counterparts. The GLA partly made up for this by scavenging parts from wrecks on the battlefield to upgrade some of their own vehicles (namely the Technical truck, Quad Cannon, Marauder Tank and the Scorpion rocket for the Scorpion Tanks). GLA commanders can also purchase extra upgrades off the Black Market. When fully upgraded, a GLA force can be quite powerful on the battlefield. Whatever weakness the GLA cannot compensate by upgrades, they do so with tactics. The GLA excels at guerrilla warfare, especially hit-and-run tactics, as its forces are highly mobile. They also employed ambushes, disguises and traps. Camouflaged rebels may attack out of nowhere, skilled vehicle hijackers may suddenly appear, a hidden roadside Demo Trap may suddenly detonate, and a friendly Crusader Tank may turn out to be a GLA Bomb Truck. GLA workers may even tunnel deep inside an enemy's base and conduct a surprise attack. If given the opportunity, GLA Generals will steal and pillage any useful hardware from their superpower rivals and use it against them. The GLA will do anything and everything that is necessary to win.

The GLA claim to be liberating oppressed peoples from imperialists. In reality, civilians were often the victims of GLA aggression. In fact, collateral damage was of little concern to GLA commanders as they believed in the absolute righteousness of their cause. Civilians receiving UN foreign aid were dismissed as 'sheep' to be killed if necessary. When the GLA attacked or took control of an area, civilians would almost certainly be caught up in the fighting. The GLA also committed atrocities such as testing their biological weapons on civilian populations deemed sympathetic to their enemies. In short, civilian casualties are considered necessary to sacrifice for the noble cause.

Traitors to the GLA are not taken kindly either, a splinter cell that defected to the Chinese were wiped out using their very own weapons their new allies (stolen by the original GLA) had provided them with. In general, the GLA will go to the extremes, perhaps even the impossible to eliminate their enemies they claim as "infidels".

Technological Level
The GLA is technologically inferior to the USA and China. For instance, unlike the superpowers, the GLA lacked any air power beyond transport planes to provide support to their forces. However, it is known that the GLA employed ex-Soviet scientists, as well as their own scientists, who conducted (sometimes unethical) research to improve their arsenal. Technologies known to be used by the GLA included chemical and biological weapons, missiles (the ex-Soviet SCUD is a prime example of this) and GPS scrambler technology (allowing GLA forces to stay out of enemy sight).

Black Gold is the fourth and penultimate mission in the American campaign of Zero Hour. The main objective was to destroy all GLA forces near the oil fields in Iran to stop Dr. Thrax's funding. Despite heavy resistance from the GLA and their allies from a local town where the GLA used propaganda to incite the civilians fight for them, the operation was a success.[1]

Background

Following the assault and capture of a secret GLA lab, the American forces learned that the GLA, led by a general codenamed "Dr. Thrax", are engaging in the production of lethal toxin. American intelligence agency traced Thrax's funding to an Iranian oil fields, and the US military intended to cripple the GLA threat by cutting off their funding.

The area surrounding the oil fields was hostile as the GLA had the support of the disenchanted civilians in the local town. In preparation for the mission, three CIA agents were inserted into the area to find out the resistance and situation. A night operation was planned to catch the GLA off guard.

Events

Airborne Assault

The only way to establish a foothold in the area was by air, and capturing the town's airport would be beneficial to the Americans so they could be supplied with reinforcements. Under cover of darkness, US Rangers paradropped onto the airfield and eliminated the AA batteries and other GLA units present there. Once all GLA units were destroyed, an American plane landed several Crusader tanks, Humvees and dozers to establish a base of operations at the airport. Colonel Burton and six Pathfinders were also dropped off by a Chinook helicopter.

Neutralizing Local Resistance

With only a limited number of supply piles in the area, it was essential for the American forces to capture some of the oil derricks that were controlled by the GLA. All the oil derricks in the area were controlled by the GLA and could continually build up their attack forces in a war of attrition against the Americans. After removing several booby traps, Rangers captured the oil derricks at the airport to secure the funds needed while the rest of the force set up defensive positions at the access bridges.

Securing the Oil Derricks

Without their funding the GLA war machine grounded to a halt. This time the Americans reinforced their attack force and blasted their way through one of the base positions, all of which were heavily mined by Demo Traps. A massive engagement occurred between the Americans and the GLA defenders but they were not enough to halt the advancing Americans from destroying their base.

Aftermath

The destruction of the GLA garrison guarding the oil fields, as well as the American capture and self-destruction of the oil rigs, severely crippled Dr. Thrax's war effort to fight the Americans. US intel finally located the GLA leader at a classified area in the Middle East. Dr. Thrax's defeat there would plunge the whole GLA into turmoil again.

Walkthrough

Once you secure the strip, use the Dozers to neutralize Booby and Demo Traps scattered on your base. Then build defenses on the 3 bridges, especially in the Northern side, because that bridge will be the most used by GLA to attack you.

As you do it, use Burton to soften the Radio Station defenders and use A-10 Strikes to eliminate GLA the radio station to stop further suicide attacks launched.

After that, secure the village by putting defenses on the area. After that, find and secure 3 CIA agents on the field: one is near the oil field, the second is on the boundary between the oil fields and the village, and the last is on the village's outskirts.

Use Spy Sat uplink to clear Demo Traps in the road to the GLA base. Then eliminate the GLA to the roots.

Tips

 • On medium and hard difficulties, the GLA base has a SCUD storm already built, (there is none on easy), but it won't activate unless Spy Satellite is used on the base. Since the GLA won't repair or rebuild their structures, wait until you've ranked up to level 3 A-10 Strike before revealing the base, in which you'll be able to safely destroy the SCUD storm with 2 A-10 Strikes before they can launch.
 • There are three CIA Agents around the map. Find them to solicit their help, but be careful not to run the vehicle over the Agent before they identified themselves to be ally, as the vehicle may kill them.
 • Due to the amount of Oil Derricks in this mission, the Derrick pays $100 each time as opposed to $200 in other mission or in regular gameplay. The $1000 bonus on capture remains the same, however.
 • The initial attack force's fate is unknown after securing the area.
